Wild Explorers team think of every possible detail, so you don’t have to. They are fun and warm, while also taking their responsibilities very seriously. This results in participants not only feeling safe and protected, but also being able to relax and have a blast during the challenging yet satisfying runs.

Wild Explorers Team are wonderful humans who took care to plan and execute every single detail, each day of our journey. Our group was well taken care of at every activity and meal. Jota and Cari have a great system to keep track of how everyone is doing, and they genuinely cared that we all were comfortable and having a fun time. My plan is to look at some of there other trips so I can see new parts of Ecuador and anywhere else they may organize an adventure.

I would highly recommend Wild Explorer to have the opportunity to discover as a trail runner on some of the most iconic landscapes in Ecuador. Our guides went above and beyond to make sure to have a memorable experience. Definitely would like to come back someday again.

FAQS

What is the weather like in Patagonia?

In Patagonia is known for fast-changing weather — which is part of its magic. Expect daytime temperatures of 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) and cooler mornings and evenings.

March can bring a mix of sun, light rain, and strong winds, though winds tend to be milder than in peak summer. It’s a transitional month into autumn, offering crisp air, fewer crowds, and the first hints of fall colors, but you should still be prepared for rapid weather changes.
The best approach is to dress in layers, so you can add or remove clothing as conditions shift.

Who can join this retreat?

This retreat is open to all genders and is designed for runners and active travelers who love exploring nature. You do not need to be an elite athlete — the focus is on connection, exploration, and personal challenge, not competition.
If you enjoy running or hiking on varied terrain and feel comfortable being active for a few hours a day, you will love this retreat.

What if I’m the slowest in the group?

No problem at all — this retreat is designed so each participant can move at their own pace. We have multiple guides who support different speeds, ensuring everyone is comfortable and included. Some days may be approached as a hike/run, depending on your preference.
The experience is personal and supportive — the goal is joy in movement, not speed.

Do I have to run every day?

No, while trail running is a core part of the experience, you are always welcome to hike
instead of run when desired. On longer distances, many participants choose to mix both.
