PETROGLYPHS
& RIVER
ITINERARY
Our meeting point is Parque San Sebastián in Cuenca. After just 2h30min, you will arrive at the tropical rainforest. After passing Indanza, you will arrive at an archeological and natural park, where you will disconnect from the world to discover a great variety of mysterious recordings on large rocks called "petroglyphs,"; which come from the Greek "petra," which means "stone" and "glyphs," "engraving." Most of these figures look like humans, animals, and geometric forms. This visit will take us to an unknown world of primitive cultures of more than 5,000 years B.C
You will end this trekking in a fantastic place near the river, a perfect place to pause, admire the striking tropical rainforest scenery, and get your first dip in a beautiful river. Your adventure ends today as you enjoy your lunch in the natural surroundings of this place; afterwards, you will return to Cuenca.
