In 1976 the governments of England and Ecuador organized an expedition to find metal sheets that supposed to have the origin of an unknown civilization of which the human race has no memory or clue.
Scotsman Stanley and Hall led this expedition, supported by local people, Ecuadorian and British armies. The astronaut Neil Armstrong participated as a special guest. After this expedition, I declared: "Tayo's is up with the Moon."
Many people affirm this expedition took these metal sheets, among other treasures.
Inside the cave is a world full of life; you can find insects, spiders, tarantulas, bats, crabs and have been fount shrimps.
The name originates from the birds that live inside, tayos (oil birds).
