Galápagos Running Retreat
with Karen Guttridge
18–24 January 2026

Only 12 spots available  exclusively for women!

You’re Never Too Old, Too Slow, or Too Sweaty for a New Beginning

Join Karen Guttridge—writer, wellness advocate, and reluctant but resilient runner—for an unforgettable adventure in one of the most extraordinary places on the planet: the Galápagos Islands.

This exclusive journey through Santa Cruz and Isabela is more than a run—it’s a bold leap into nature, movement, and the magic of feeling fully alive. Whether you're a seasoned jogger, a power walker, or someone who simply wants to get out there and explore, this experience invites you to reconnect with your body, your mindset, and the wildness around you.

Inspired by Karen’s own late-blooming, often hilarious running story, this retreat is for those who know it’s never too late to try something new—even if it involves dodging lava rocks, laughing through hot flashes, or outrunning a few penguins.

With expertly curated trails, mindful movement, and plenty of time to breathe, snorkel, swim, and simply be, this is your chance to experience the Galápagos in a way most travelers never will.

A Glimpse into the History of the Galápagos

Discovered by Spanish bishop Fray Tomás de Berlanga in 1535, the Galápagos Islands have long been shrouded in mystery and wonder. Their remote location and volcanic origins gave rise to an ecosystem unlike any other on Earth—one shaped in isolation, where life evolved in extraordinary ways.

The archipelago captured the world’s attention in the 19th century when Charles Darwin visited aboard the HMS Beagle. His observations of the islands’ unique species—such as finches and giant tortoises—became the foundation of his groundbreaking theory of evolution by natural selection.

In the 20th century, the Galápagos were declared a national park and later recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ensuring the protection of their fragile ecosystems and reaffirming their global importance as a living symbol of nature’s power and resilience.

Why Visit the Galápagos Islands?

Set in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, the Galápagos Islands are one of the few places on Earth where nature still reigns supreme. This remote Ecuadorian paradise offers more than just breathtaking landscapes—it invites you to experience a world that feels untouched by time.

Here, you can walk alongside giant tortoises, snorkel with playful sea lions, and marvel at marine iguanas sunning themselves on lava rocks. Each island reveals its own personality—whether it’s the volcanic moonscapes of Isabela, the white-sand beaches of Santa Cruz, or the lush highlands teeming with life.

From hiking across volcanic craters to exploring underwater worlds bursting with color, every moment in the Galápagos is a window into Earth’s raw beauty and evolutionary history.

Visiting the Galápagos is not just a trip—it’s a journey into the heart of life itself.

Fully Inclusive:

Running Sierra Negra

Wild Explorers made exploring the Galapagos Islands such a surreal experience. Everything was so well coordinated from getting off the plane on Baltra Island to volcano explorations to dinners, snacks, and hotels. I could spend my time focused on seeing every last sea lion, tortoise, and iguana knowing that Jota and Cari knew the islands so well and had chosen the best adventures for us.

“It was a privilege to be able to travel to the Galápagos Islands with Wild Explorers and alongside Jota and Cari as our guides! It was a trip of a lifetime! Every day was something new to experience and look forward to. We hiked the Sierra Negra Volcano, snorkeled with the marine life off Isabela, explored a beautiful tortoise reserve on Santa Cruz, and many other things. Jota and Cari were so kind and accommodating the entire trip. They planned all excursions, transportation and meals along the way! They couldn’t have been more thorough and organized as guides. I will forever be grateful for Wild Explorers and this memorable trip!”
