WHY WILD EXPLORERS
Expert-guided. Locally rooted.
Infinitely wild.
⛰
Local Expertise
Every guide was born or lives in the ecosystems they lead. Not expats running tours — locals sharing their home. That difference is everything you'll feel on day one.
◎
Small Groups Only
Maximum 14 participants on company tours. We don't scale headcount — we protect the experience. You'll know every name in the group by dinner on night one.
⟁
All Fitness Levels
Our routes adapt to you — not the other way around. Daily distances can be shortened or extended. No one is ever left behind. The goal is experience, not pace.
✦
Fully Managed
Transfers, permits, accommodations, nutrition, safety protocols — handled. You arrive, lace up, and run. We've spent years building the infrastructure so you don't have to think about it.

OUR STORY
We don't sell tours.
We curate transformations.
Founded by Cari and Jota — two adventurers who traded careers for trails — Wild Explorers started with a simple belief: Ecuador is the most underrated adventure destination on Earth. Four ecosystems in one country, the highest concentration of biodiversity per square kilometer anywhere, and trails that have never appeared on a tourist map. We've been guiding since 2018. First with world-class ambassadors. Now with our own expert team of local guides. Same spirit. More departures. More ways to explore wild.

★★★★★
I participated in the inaugural trail running camp this past year. It really is an incredible experience - one of my favorite trips I’ve even been on.
Wild Explorers team organize a great trip and participate in each run - full of great views, experiences, and awesome local cuisine. All logistics are covered from the moment you land in Ecuador until you leave.
Spending a week with Hayden, one of the best ultra runners in the world right now, is also a nice added bonus. I strongly recommend this for those seeking something different, want to learn more about trail running, or want to explore a new part of the world.

★★★★★
This was an unforgettable adventure running trip through Ecuador, and it was nothing short of amazing! Our journey took us across some of the most stunning landscapes imaginable.
Each day brought a new challenge and a new reward as we ran through the mountains, including visits to the breathtaking Cotopaxi and Lake Quilotoa. The highlight was reaching altitudes of up to 5,000 meters and running toward the iconic Chimborazo – an experience that left me in awe of both nature’s beauty and our own resilience. The group I was part of turned this adventure into something truly special. Not only did I get to run alongside Hayden Hawks @hawks_hayden , but I also formed lasting friendships with fellow runners who shared the same passion and spirit.
Exploring the heart of Ecuador with this group made every step, every challenge, and every view even more meaningful. Beyond the incredible landscapes, I was touched by the warmth and hospitality of the Ecuadorian people. Their genuine kindness and welcoming spirit added a unique layer to the journey, making this adventure more than just a run – it was a life experience. For anyone seeking an exhilarating adventure that combines physical challenge with stunning natural beauty, this trip is an absolute must.

★★★★★
The trip reignited my love for running. Nine days in Ecuador with a group of total strangers turned into something far bigger than a trail running trip. Chimborazo was the most memorable — the highest elevation, the closest point to the sun on Earth. I didn't even run it. I hiked it. And what better place to slow down? I left feeling not just physically stretched, but culturally expanded.
